• Club

The Goot is formost a Club, a fun and fascinating club with events, a restaurant, workshops and people like you, with the possibility to eventually rent an apartment in the building.

​​

• 5 Clubs the Goot in the Netherlands

There are 5 different the Goot locations in Holland, but we plan to have more.

Each Residence has it's own signature.

They vary from 'Wild' to 'Calm', from 'Trendy' to 'Let's not make a fool of ourselves'.

• Organization

Each location is run by an independant group of employees and volunteers, often family members of the residents.

It has it's own program and events. 

Independent restaurant, festivities organization, workshops, and Café.

Independent apartment rent and care facilities.

The building and property is in the possession of the government.

​

This is the main idea behind the Goot: That it fits the people who visit the Club.

Here is where they will find like minded, here is where they have been hanging out with their colleagues, friends, partners and here's where they already feel at home, long before they will decide to move here as well. 

​

This way, people will wish to eventually end up in a place like this! 

​

At first, you will visit the Club for it's restaurant, the café, the spectacular events, the concerts or the lectures. As a member you get a discount on everything. there is a strict door policy, you cannot become a member before the age of 45.

Younger people will not be allowed to visit the concerts or the workshops.

They can be introduced for the restaurant however. But lectures, concerts and workshops are under strict door policy.

The café downstairs is publicly accessible. But it is the Goot's café, and may very well become your favorite pub.

​

• Different locations with different signatures:

One location may be artistic in the centre of the city, the other is totaly green, with kitchen gardens and growing their own food.

Shared interests is the keyword.

- De Goot Amsterdam Centre

​

- De Goot Holysloot, big centre in the suburbs, just outside of Amsterdam, with a meditation centre, a big garden where residents grow their own vegetables, swimming in the Gouwzee and the IJsselmeer (walking distance), walks and bird watching sessions guided by an ornithologist, maybe even sailing sessions on a nice summer day.

- De Goot Groningen, big centre organized to the wishes, ideals of people living and meeting each other there.

• Difference with other existing Homes and Clubs
   

- The main difference with other existing Elderly Homes for instance is that most Homes are organized for residents only. Exhibitions by residents, dining facilities for residents, etc. Guests can attend an event only as introduce. 

This way elderly people are put together and still set aside.  

 

- Another big difference is that the horeca, the restaurant and the café, as well as the event agency all operate independently, over arched by the board of directors of The Goot. Each location has it's own board of directors that operate under the same denominator.

It is Paradiso, het Concertgebouw, De Kring, a Gallery, ateliers, and the Balie all in one. And néxt to that you can live there. 

​

People younger than 45 will envy the members and can't wait to join. People will falsify their ID to get in. 

​

• When a resident gets fysically or mentally more dependent on other types of care:
   

Eventhough De Goot is not a Elderly Care Home, if residents can not live independently anymore, we organise ways for them to stay for as long as they want. With extra care if needed. There is no lock to the main front door, but we'll provide extra eyes and a track and trace app on their phone. So if people eventually need other types of care, physically or mentally, in consultation with the resident and family members all options will be looked in to.
